STUDY OF NUCLEAR LEVEL DENSITY AND SPIN CUT-OFF FACTORS
Nuclear level densities and spin cut-off factors have been deduced for nuclei in the mass region 24‹A‹63,from a microscopic theory, which includes nuclear pairing interaction. Single particle levels for both Seeger and Nilsson potentials were used in the calcdations. Level densities extracted from the theory are compared with their conesponding experimental values, It is found that the overall...
متن کاملIncreased cut-off wavelength for a subwavelength hole in a real metal.
A waveguide mode of a subwavelength rectangular hole in a real metal is analyzed. Due to coupling between surface plasmons on the long edges of the hole, the cut-off wavelength increases as the hole-width is reduced. The cut-off wavelength is found to be much larger than Rayleigh's criterion for perfect metals - 2.3 times as large for a 15 nm wide hole. The analytical results are verified by fi...
متن کاملSilicon photonic waveguides for different wavelength regions
In this paper, we present our work on three silicon waveguide structures that are suitable for three different wavelength regions: near-, midand far-infrared. Design rules for standard rib SOI waveguides are given. Both single mode and polarization independence in these waveguides are discussed. A hollow-core waveguide suitable for gas-sensing applications in the mid-infrared wavelength region ...
متن کامل[Validity of smoking measurements during pregnancy: specificity, sensitivity and cut-off points].
BACKGROUND Non-disclosure by pregnant women smokers of their smoking habit questions the validity of self-declarations. The purpose of this research is to determine the rate of Non disclosure and to establish the validity of exhaled CO as a method of biochemical validation. METHOD Data obtained in a Randomised Clinical Trial in 12 Health Centres in Malaga. 454 pregnant women smokers, of whom ...
